Farewelling our lovely Bangalore friends!

A wonderful visit from my good Bangalore friends  ~ Harrison, Nancy and Allen ~ on Saturday.  They came specially from Taichung to say goodbye! Earlier this year on Pentecost Sunday, June 24, we celebrated their older son, Kelvin being confirmed at St. James’ Church, Taichung, and also said goodbye to him as he left to start his university studies in their home country of India (see that blog post here).  And it sounds like he’s having a great time! Philip Lin has moved from St. James to Good Shepherd.  Philip’s children still have many friends at St. James, and his younger son’s … Continue reading St. James’ Preschool Fair, Taichung 一年一度聖雅各愛心園遊會 ~ Yes, it’s all happening!

Cell groups have gone from strength to strength at St. James, a wonderful way of growing the church, and sharing and deepening faith.  In this group are … Continue reading St. James Church, Taichung 飛揚(肥羊)小組!

Chinese New Year 2014!

And what a New Year it was!  The best weather ever ever ever, certainly ever since I ever remember – it was wonderful!  Praise God YES! Started with the New Year’s Eve Banquet just up the road at Shuang-Lian Senior Care Centre, invited by my good friends Rev. and Mrs. Hsu.  Definitely the in-place to be on the night!  Over 100 tables, over 1,000 people, whole families of 4 generations, delicious food and red envelopes for all the residents – fun! Then on New Year’s Day (Friday) to Taichung by High-Speed Rail – not easy to get a ticket, but … Continue reading Chinese New Year 2014!
