A big thank you to everyone for your support and prayers these past few weeks ❤️
On November 29, I posted this news in English and Chinese on my Facebook and Instagram: “My dear Mum died peacefully on Remembrance Sunday, November 10, aged 92. Her funeral will be on Friday, December 13, and tonight I am leaving Taiwan and heading to the UK for 3 weeks. The funeral will be held at Jesus Church, Troutbeck, near Windermere in the Lake District, followed by a gathering nearby at the traditional ‘Mortal Man’ Inn. In good weather, it all looks like this ~ all very beautiful! Thank you all for your prayers & support.” ❤️

Her funeral was indeed on Friday, December 13, followed by the interment of ashes on Monday, December 16, all at Jesus Church, Troutbeck…

We give thanks to Almighty God that everything went smoothly ~ and now I am preparing to return to Taiwan, flying tomorrow ✈️
Special thanks to Rev. Mark Houston, Rev. James Richards and all those who came to the funeral and the reception afterwards at the Mortal Man. Many traveled huge distances to join us and we are very grateful ~ my Mum is fondly remembered and was much loved by many. Following local tradition, she continues to be remembered in the church prayers and her funeral booklet is on display for the next few weeks behind the altar (next to the Christmas tree) in Jesus Church…

I have many more photos of the funeral that I will post on Facebook and Instagram – please check them there – but I will delay posting here until I have written a CMS link letter in the new year. Watch this space!
As I return to Taiwan for Christmas, I hope and pray that your Christmas celebrations will be full of joy, peace and God’s grace. ❤️ Thank you everyone!
Dear Catherine I am glad you were able to be there for your Mum’s funeral.Losing one’s parent is such a key moment in life. I am sure that your friends and co-workers in Taiwan will be sensitive to this and will give you the support that you need as you mourn her loss- but also give thanks for her life and what she meant to you.Praying for youLoveGeoff
Thank you Geoff, and sending many Christmas greetings to you!
Dear Catherine, It was really good to be able to be with you for your Mum’s funeral. It was a lovely occasion and, I suspect, she would have approved. We were particularly impressed with the way you drew the gathered community together at the Mortal Man. You are being remembered in the prayers at St John’s. We hope your journey back to Taiwan is uneventful, and we have booked ourselves in for a couple of nights in the Mortal man to take advantage of their Winter offer! We hope to see you again before too long. Blessings Mike & Nicky
