Yes, honest, I love CMS!  And all those associated with CMS ~ the mission partners, CMS staff, UK Link Churches and of course all those who welcome us to serve in their dioceses, churches, organizations and communities! Freshers Week @ St. John’s University!

It’s that time of the year again, and we’re pleased to say we have well over 700 bright-eyed and bushy-tailed first-year students enrolled for St. John’s University for the coming school year, which officially starts on Monday September 19, after Mid-Autumn Moon Festival. 100+ of them are actually enrolled in the junior college program of St. John’s University, meaning they’re 15 years old, and opting first for 5-year junior college rather than senior high school ~ I’m so pleased that I met one, Jia-Yun who I recognized from my English Classes at our neighboring junior high school, Xian-Xiao! 聖方濟安老院開幕慶活動 Grand Opening Day @ St. Francis Care Home, Toucheng, Yilan!

An amazing morning spent at an amazing place, at the Grand Opening Celebrations of St. Francis Care Home 聖方濟安老院 in Toucheng, Yilan County 宜蘭縣頭城鎮 YES! Last Christmas, under the leadership of Rev. Farewell to St. John’s University President Chen Jean-Lien!

St. John’s University President Chen Jean-Lien is retiring this month after 8 years at the helm, and today was our Grand Farewell and Great Send-Off Day!  The ceremony and buffet lunch was held in our new church centre at Advent Church, emceed by Shu-Jing from our chaplaincy office, and attended by faculty, staff and students.  Sadly the Chair of the SJU Board of Trustees, Dr. Cecilia Koo was unable to come at the last moment ~ fortunately Bishop Lai was in attendance, representing the trustees.  We had speeches, flowers and gift presentations, songs from our student fellowship and a very … Continue reading Farewell to St. John’s University President Chen Jean-Lien!

You’d never believe that anyone could have so much fun and laughter on a summer camp, and see so many smiling faces on all the children, when the theme of the summer camp is – guess what?  Potentially the world’s totally least attractive and least interesting theme for a summer camp ever!  Particularly when the key elements of a summer camp are always fun, fun and more fun! Thanks be to God ~ YES!  And this is it ~ our brand new Advent Church Center in the sun yesterday! Thanks be to hundreds of people who contributed their money, time and resources ~ YES! St. John’s University Graduation 2016!

And another big milestone is reached, another group of SJU graduates is launched ~ ‘n many congratulations to them all! Today’s graduation was spectacular, as always – faculty and students gathered in gowns and mortar boards, parents and friends gathered with bunches of flowers and balloons, and the procession into the hall was led by 3 of our student fellowship students carrying the cross and 2 candles, and followed at the very end by chaplain Rev. Lennon Chang and Bishop Lai. St. John’s University Student Fellowship 聖約翰愛的團契送舊晚會 2016 Farewell Party!

‘So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, goodbye’ ~ to all our lovely graduating students! Last night was their farewell party in Advent Church, organised by the SJU Student Fellowship group ~ YES!
