Just up the road here in Sanzhi 三芝 is the childhood home of Lee Teng-Hui, President of Taiwan from 1988-2000.  Until yesterday it was a very quaint old house, still part of an active community. But then came torrential rains on Saturday, and yesterday morning one-third of the roof collapsed….
