Greetings from Padhar Hospital, Madhya Pradesh where we’re coming to the end of a 2 week teaching programme in Family Medicine for doctors from Delhi, Mumbai, Goa and Maharashtra – oh, and one army doc who is currently stationed 4km from the Chinese border at 22,000 feet where the temperature is usually around -20 and never climbs above freezing even in summer. He has had to walk downhill for 7 days to get here and will have to walk uphill for 15 days to get back! Definitely wins the prize for greatest effort and dedication.
I fear the key to the lack of glasses in young people in India is simply failure to test and recognise near-sightedness…..
