The Angel of the North

IMG_2311Off to Newcastle yesterday so I went, but in the middle of the early morning rush hour and heading straight into a traffic jam on the A1, there was the chance to turn off and visit the Angel of the North instead.  Right by the motorway.  And my first ever visit actually to it, rather than just driving by.

Big big big, 10m high and almost as wide as a jumbo jet, and up on a hill….

Must admit, from a distance I don’t like the sculpture and never have, but y’know, from close up, and in the early morning sunshine, I rather took a liking to it.  It really is quite spectacular, and y’know, well, yep, I think I like it!

Honest, it really is quite something!
