CMS Link Letter & Friendship Magazine Out Now!

My latest Church Mission Society CMS Link Letter was published last week, check it out here…..

The top photo above was taken at Chiang Mai airport, waiting for that white China Airlines plane to come to a stop, in order to take us back to Taiwan! My CMS Link Letter starts with me being in Chiang Mai, Thailand, last October, nearly the end of the rainy season. The skies were mostly dull and overcast, so I went searching for bits of colour, and found lots, street scenes, cars, temples and the orange robes of monks – check out the photos below…

Also, a few days ago, the Diocese of Taiwan Friendship Magazine was published online at this link: Friendship Magazine January 2026. Please do read it, as we are preparing for our bishop’s election on May 9, and the 3 candidates are pictured on the front cover, and there’s lots of news contained within. I’m the editor, and it takes several weeks to put together, so it would be great if you could read it. Thank you! Thank you also for your prayers for the Diocese of Taiwan, much appreciated at this time. ❤️

  1. Dear Catherine, Thank you for the lovely photos of Chiang Mai. We could do with a lot more colour here. Extraordinary how the western vision of church architecture was so faithfully and unimaginatively imposed on the eastern landscape amidst such beautiful temples. I have read your newsletter and the magazine with great interest.  Clearing up after that terrible flood and landslide was obviously extremely unpleasant but how rapidly the help encouraged your Christian dentist to reopen his clinic, and that in turn encouraged others. I was surprised to see how many clergy there are. 23 if I have counted correctly.  The mission statement by the Bishop is ambitious but seems to reflect a thriving church which is looking forward very positively to the future.  It is wonderful to have such dedication and responsible commitment from clergy and laity. The election for a new bishop looks like an admirably transparent process. So good to see support from outside. Will you be replaced in due course? You will be a hard act to follow but I don’t see how they will manage without someone like you. Love and prayers,Sarah xx

      1. Dear Catherine, Always something to read and look at!  What is it about trains?  Not just a British obsession.  As for the cherry blossom. Beautiful. Spring, come quickly. I was out pruning in the garden today so it must be getting warmer for me to face the great outdoors. Blessings,Sarah x
