My latest Church Mission Society CMS Link Letter was published a few days ago, please check it out here…..
Also, a few days ago, the Diocese of Taiwan Friendship Magazine was published online at this link: Friendship Magazine June 2026. Please do take a look, there’s lots of news of our bishop’s election, the opening of 2 new churches, plus all that’s been happening lately. I’m the person putting the magazine together, writing some of the articles, and checking all the others ~ so thanks for reading! Also, if you’re interested in traditional Chinese religion and ancestor worship, and the Christian response, there’s an excellent sermon from Rev. Antony Liang given in the magazine.

Meanwhile, it’s Dragon Boat Festival weekend, always held on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month, which was yesterday, June 19, and known in Chinese as Duanwu Festival. Everyone eats sticky rice dumplings called zong-zi and tries to balance eggs in an upright position at noon on the actual day. But by far the most exciting are the dragon boat races, and we have a whole weekend of races on the river at Dazhi. It’s very very hot, temperatures today are forecast to reach 36℃, feels like 43℃. Anyway, I cycled along the riverside bike path to Dazhi yesterday, starting out in the dark (at the 7-Eleven of course!), then to Muzha for sunrise and Bitan at the top end of the river, then along to Shezidao and to Dazhi, where I spent about 30 minutes in the heat watching the races, and came back through central Taipei City for ice-cream. All very colourful, lively and fun, and with 3 days of competition, there’s still more to come!

As always, thank you for all your prayers and support, and please continue!
